FEBRUARY 8

Follow God’s Instructions
“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:14, 15

For some Christians, a very simple act of obedience may mean the difference between their receiving their healing or not. If you are sick and need prayer from your elders or church leaders, you are the one who should call and ask them for prayer (of course, providing that you are of conscious mind to do so). You should not be asking someone else to do the calling for you, nor become angry or upset if you are not approached for prayer. Your doing what the Bible says and calling yourself will amount to both an act of faith and an act of obedience. Faith and obedience will always open the door for receiving from the Lord.

Scripture reading: James 5:14-16; Proverbs 4:20-27
