APRIL 17

Sowing In Famine
“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar…Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: for he had possession of herds, and great store of servants, and the Philistines envied him.”
Genesis 26:1, 12-14

We must understand that sowing and reaping is a vital truth in the kingdom of God. The principles are not governed by what is going on in this present world system. We must enter into this reality in our thinking and in our actions, and in this sense, our giving and receiving. There are times that giving may seem like the most inappropriate thing to do. However, we must trust the Word and the Holy Spirit Who lives within us to lead us in what we are doing. Our return will be based on what the kingdom of God promises, not on the condition of this natural world.

Scripture reading: Mark 4:14-32; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
