Pray For Those In Authority
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4

The Holy Spirit tells us here just how important it is for us to pray for those in authority and to offer thanks for them as well. Of course our Word of God based, Holy Spirit inspired prayers will avail much and will help shape the course of the lives of those in authority. However, the Bible puts emphasis here on what our obedience will do, not what those in authority will do. If we obey the Lord in this area, He promises us that we, the body of Christ, will have peace, quiet, Godly and honest living and that men will be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Let’s do the Word.

Scripture reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14-16
